Your tasks will cover the following:
- Working closely with bartenders in a supportive role to deliver exceptional service standards
- Assisting bartenders with opening, ongoing and closing duties of the bar
- Keeping the bars stocked with liquor, beer, spirits, wine, champagne, soft drinks, juices, garnishes, ice cubes, and other products needed throughout service
- Ensuring that glasses, stirrers, shakers, strainers, blenders, and other bartending tools are clean and in the correct position for the bartenders
- Maintaining a tidy and clean work environment
- Maintaining clean and clear bar tops and bar surfaces
- Responsible for preparing and stocking all mise en place in the bar
- Cutting fruits and preparing garnishes
- Preparing and polishing all glassware and coffee ware needed
- Reducing breakages and loss
- Following recycling protocol
- Saving and storing ice
- Preparation of homemade syrups
- Preparation of dried garnishes
- Squeezing and preparation of fresh juices
- Communicating effectively and courteously with guests, and co-workers
- Performing calmly and effectively under stressful conditions
- Promoting an atmosphere of teamwork by assisting co-workers
- Follow and enforce all the SOP’s and mandates as they have been trained and instructed.
An ideal candidate will have the following personality traits, skills, and experiences:
- An understanding of what is needed to prepare and stock the bar for daily operation
- Good communication with the bartenders, managers, and team members
- Anticipation skill set - the ability to think a step ahead
- Health and safety guidelines when handling food and beverage, storage, and expiring dates
- Health and safety guidelines in the workplace for lifting and carrying heavy items
- Brand standards and daily operation
