JOB TITLE: BAR Supervisor

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Food and Beverage staff members
BASIC FUNCTIONUnder the direction of Bar & Restaurant Manager or his / her delegate and within the limits of established policies and procedures the Supervisor is responsible for efficient service to the guests. He / she must ensure the highest standard of service and the greatest possible guest satisfaction. The Supervisor is assisting the Food and beverage Manager in his/her duties.
RELATIONSHIP
- Reports directly to and communicates with the Bar & Restaurant Manager on all pertinent matters affecting guests serving in restaurants and bars
- Co-ordinates with his colleagues to ensure service is delivered in a smooth and effective manner
- Interacts and serves guests at all bars
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Trains staff to provide high standards of service and to increase their knowledge
- Assists the Manager in scheduling, purchasing and preparation of reports
- Assists in wine list and cocktail menu making
- Conducts meeting with the staff members
- Follows up the health and safety regulations
- Supervises the staff members in their duties
- Ensurs all opening, closing and running side work is completed on a daily basis
- Controls the labour cost and all related costs
- Provides efficient, expedient and courteous service to the guests
- Assists the staff members in their duties
- Monitors the cleanliness, maintenance and upkeep of all equipment, furniture, and other items
- Inspects the equipment. Ensures its proper usage. Performs inventories
- Resolves customer care cases
- Monitors all phone calls to room service department to ensure timely resolution for same
- Checks the re-stocking of bar areas with supplies and products
- Prepares inventory or purchase requisitions as needed to replenish supply
- Checks buffet/reception tables and coffee breaks process if needed
- Monitors and ensures completion of orders, administers all maintenance projects
- Ensures the compliance with departmental policies and brand standards
- Ensure that bar staff knowledge of the menu is at a high level.
- Attends department meeting and training when requested
- Is always clean and properly groomed on duty, according to hotel policy
- Performs all duties other than above requested by the Bar & Restaurant Manager and Hotel Manager.
