Assistant Design Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Project Specification & Staffing

1. Assists to Design Manager in establishing specifications, standards and procedures for executing the desired project.

Design Management Processes

2. Assists to Design Manager in executing the Design Management within the overall Project Management processes to ensure projects design delivery is managed within all agreed project parameters, specifically cost, time, quality, functionality, safety and environmental standards.
3. Supports the continuous review the scope for improvement in design management processes and performance, based on lessons learned, recommending changes where necessary.
4. Performs design reviews at specific design stages completion and on a regular basis to follow-up on design progress, ensuring that the timelines of the project meet the target dates that the design brief is being attained, attending progress review meetings and ensuring that appropriate resources are allocated as per the contractual agreement.

Contractor & Consultant Liaison

5. Coordinates with Consultants and Contractors for the duration of the project through Design and Project Review Meetings and updates to ensure the effective coordination and execution of the projects design; specifically, to agree the scope of work, the brief, design production, formatting production, standards, specifications, materials and equipment selection, installations, testing, commissioning and acceptance of completed works.

D. Health, Safety & Environment

6. Contributes to ensuring the design produced is aligned with the need to deliver the projects in compliance with all the relevant safety, quality and environment procedures, instructions and controls are adhered to, so that the safety of employees, quality of products/services and environment compliance can be guaranteed during the project implementation.
