ADRIATIC42, a first-class yard for the servicing, maintaining and repairing of yachts and superyachts, is a joint venture company of Drydocks World (a DP World company) and PM holding (wholly owned by investment Corporation of Dubai – ICD). ADRIATIC42 is strategically located in one of the safest natural harbors in the world; the enclosed Boka Kotorska Bay in Montenegro. Our aim is to redevelop it by employing the latest equipment and the industry’s most cost-effective new techniques and services to bring the country’s renowned sector skills to the Mediterranean/Adriatic Yacht market.
Production Manager
We are now recruiting to put the right team in place to take this venture forward!
Subsequently an exciting opportunity has now arisen for a highly motivated Production Manager who is responsible to manage, lead, and oversee all aspects of daily operations for all manufacturing, manufacturing support and administrative functions needed to support shipyard operations. Responsibilities include, project execution including maintaining quality standards, cost effectiveness and time management to ensure projects are on time and within budget.
Required qualifications, experience & skills
- BSC Degree from an accredited university/collage- Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering or similar qualification with a strong technical background
- Minimum 10 years’ Experience as a shipyard manager or other management level responsibilities in a shipyard environment
- Good negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Good planning and organizational skills.
- Must be fluent in English.
Key responsibilities:
- Provides supervision to shipyard managers, supervisors and foreman
- Develops departmental plans, including business, production and/or organizational priorities and established shipyard goals
- Directs activities in areas of safety and personnel, production, scheduling, material handling and quality and ensures compliance with all Safety, Quality, Company and Regulatory directives in conjunction with manager HSEQ.
- Apply knowledge of marine engineering principles as applicable to vessel design, new construction and repairs of ships and ships system.
- Directs and coordinates shipyard operations within company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for providing the quantity and quality of workers to meet schedule and budget. With assistance or Senior Manager, trains assigned craft supervisors in safety, cost control, job skills, quality and scheduling.
- Directs all phases of steel fabrication, assembly and erection, piping fabrication and installation, electrical systems fabrication and installation, painting and outfitting including the work performed by outside contractors. Monitors the performance as assigned supervisors.
- Establishes all shift production schedules.
- Advises Management Team regarding manning and expense goals and ensures efforts are made to meet budget projections.
- Determines plant improvements and repairs along with annual costs and schedules.
- Ensures accurate, complete records are maintained.
- Fosters a well-trained and motivated staff
