We are seeking an inspiring and dynamic German Language Acquisition Teacher to join our team and work with Middle and High School students, beginning in August 2025.

About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective German Language Acquisition lessons as part of the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and potentially the IB Diploma Programme (DP). The role includes planning differentiated lessons, assessing student progress in line with IB standards, and contributing to the broader language learning culture within the school.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective German Language Acquisition lessons as part of the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and potentially the IB Diploma Programme (DP). The role includes planning differentiated lessons, assessing student progress in line with IB standards, and contributing to the broader language learning culture within the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach German Language Acquisition to students in Middle and High School (MYP and DP levels)
- Develop and implement units of inquiry in alignment with the IB framework
- Assess and report on student progress using IB assessment criteria
- Create a classroom environment that encourages risk-taking, reflection, and intercultural understanding
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure continuity and progression in language learning
- Participate in professional development and contribute to school-wide initiatives
Candidate Profile:
- We are looking for a committed educator who meets the following criteria:
- Fluency in German (native or near-native proficiency)
- Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written)
- A relevant Bachelor’s degree and recognized teaching qualification
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching German, ideally within an international school
- Sound knowledge of language acquisition pedagogy and differentiated instruction
- Experience with the IB MYP and/or DP is highly desirable
- A collaborative mindset and a passion for teaching diverse learners
