Staff Meal Cook
Role Purpose:
To prepare and serve nutritious, well-balanced and tasty meals for employees, in accordance with hygiene standards, portion control guidelines, and daily meal plans. The Staff Canteen Cook ensures timely service, consistency, and quality while supporting the overall well-being and satisfaction of colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare daily staff meals as per the pre-approved menu and dietary standards.
- Ensure all meals are served hot, fresh, and in a timely manner
- Monitor food quality and consistency to meet internal standards
- Support the creation of weekly menus that are nutritious, seasonal, and cost-effective
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment in accordance with hygiene regulations
- Accurately follow recipes and portion sizes to minimize food waste
- Maintain correct food storage (temperature, labeling, and rotation) according to safety guidelines
- Inform Sous Chef or designated supervisor of any shortages in a timely manner
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role (canteen/staff dining/cafeteria or high-volume kitchen)
- Knowledge of basic nutrition and balanced meal planning
- Familiarity with food safety standards (HACCP/FSMS)
- Good time management and ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility
