Position Title: Language and Culture Facilitator for Pre-Service Training (PST) - (more than one)
Period of Performance: December 23rd, 2024. – April 11th, 2025.
Location of Job: In Montenegro, in communities close to the South-East border with Albania
Vacancy Opening Date: August 28th, 2024
Vacancy End Date: September 12th, 2024.

Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Language and Culture Coordinator the Language Cross Cultural Facilitator provides intensive Language and Intercultural training using Peace Corps curriculum and methodologies to small groups of Americans training to become Peace Corps Volunteers in training site in Montenegro, in communities close to the border with Albania, near the city of Shkoder. The LCF serves as an on-site cross-cultural facilitator at a volunteer training site within the region.

Major Duties and Responsibilites

• Prepare and conduct lessons in Montenegrin for a small group (4-6) of adult Americans preparing to become Peace Corps Volunteers.
• Participate in a language teacher-training program in the main training office in Lezhe, Albania before Volunteers arrive.
• Help with the development of language learning materials.
• Be available to help trainees with language in their other activities in the community.
• Help trainees learn more about living and working in Montenegro.
• Help trainees better understand their experience with living in a Montenegrin host family.
• Provide support to trainees in their cultural adaptation into Montenegrin communities.
• Provide input into the design of intercultural curriculum and sessions and assists in the implementation of intercultural learning tools and the assessment of trainee progress in cultural learning.

Mandatory Requirements

• University degree in English language, Montenegrin Language, Teaching, or other relevant degrees.
• At least 1 year teaching experience is a minimum requirement.
• Oral and written fluency in Montenegrin and English is required. 

Preferable Requirements

• Preference will be given to candidates exceeding the minimum requirements in number of years teaching experience and other relevant certificates and qualifications.    
• Oral and written fluency in Albanian.
• Cross-cultural experience.
• Willing to live in the training villages or small towns.
• Ability to work on Saturdays and travel to training communities.
• Experience with teaching a language or demonstrated strong potential to become a good teacher.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good organization and time management skills.
• Strong service attitude and personal integrity.

Additional Requirements:

• Candidate will need to pass a background/security clearance.
