As Acquera Yachting continues to expand across the Mediterranean and beyond, we are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and reliable Accountant / Back Office professional to join our dynamic team in Tivat, Montenegro. This is an exciting opportunity to grow within a fast-paced, international environment in the maritime industry.

Role Overview

As an Accountant in our maritime agency, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the local accounting process, ensuring full compliance with Montenegrin regulations and internal corporate procedures. You will report directly to Headquarters (HQ), Country Managing Director (MD), and Board of Directors (BoD), and will collaborate closely with external accountants and corporate accounting teams.

This position demands strong analytical thinking, organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a multinational setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including income and expenditure accounts
  • Reconcile bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports to monitor spending and support decision-making
  • Record employee salaries, benefits, and contributions; monitor HR-related expenditures
  • Provide regular financial reporting to the HQ, MD, and BoD
  • Coordinate with external accounting firms and corporate finance teams to ensure timely and accurate submissions
  • Support the preparation and submission of monthly VAT files with external consultants
  • Maintain and update accounting archives and financial records in accordance with legal requirements
  • Initiate and manage financial and accounting software used by the Group

Candidate Profile / Requirements

  • Proven experience in Montenegrin accounting, ideally within a multinational or related industry
  • In-depth knowledge of local tax laws, financial compliance, and VAT procedures
  • Strong reporting skills and the ability to present financial data clearly to management and stakeholders
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Excel; experience with ERP systems is an advantage
  • High level of confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and perform under pressure
  • Strong communication skills, including mandatory proficiency in English (spoken and written)
  • A flexible, performance-driven, and solution-oriented mindset
