JOB ANNOUNCEMENT FOR MEDICAL CHAPERONE (ON CALL)

LOCATION: Based in Montenegro
POSITION: Medical Chaperone (On call)
CLOSING DATE: Friday, October 10th, 2025

This position’s main function is to serve as an on-call chaperone for Peace Corps Volunteers based in Montenegro when they must utilize medical facilities external to the Peace Corps Medical Unit. Given that Peace Corps Albania and Montenegro engages a variety of medical service providers and facilities in Albania and Montenegro depending on the cases and needs of specific Volunteers, chaperones with medical backgrounds and knowledge are engaged to observe the care the Volunteers are receiving at these external facilities. This chaperone is focused on ensuring the medical facilities are providing the best care possible to the Volunteers and facilitates timely communication with the PCMO and immediately reports back to the Peace Corps Medical Officers any irregularities or situations that may call into question the care the Volunteers are receiving.

The on-call Medical Chaperone may also be engaged to support Peace Corps Albania and Montenegro immunization program of its Volunteers and Trainees during its Volunteer training program(s).

The on-call Peace Corps Medical Chaperone works under the supervision of the Peace Corps Medical Officers (PCMOs).

Qualifications and Evaluation Criteria
Candidates must meet all Requirements. Candidates will be further evaluated exceeding the minimum requirements, as well as additional qualifications presented.

Required Qualifications

• 1-2 years' experience
• Hold current and maintain a valid Nursing license during the entire performance period of this contract
• Experience performing work in a United States or other government agency, international organization or the equivalent preferred
• Strong interpersonal communication skills in English and Montenegrin language
• Ability to work with international and intercultural teams, including cross-cultural situations with Americans
• The ability to work in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• The ability to maintain a security certification from the US Embassy
• The candidate must maintain a current passport to conduct cross-border travel
• Ability to work on a regular Monday through Friday schedule with occasional evening and weekend hours when necessary
