About the Company:
We are a newly launched real estate software venture based in Montenegro. Our platform is already built and live, and we are entering the next phase of growth, stability, and feature expansion. We are looking for a senior developer to take full ownership of the product’s technical direction, ongoing development, and long-term maintainability.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Software Developer to take primary responsibility for an existing Laravel-based platform hosted on AWS. You will manage all aspects of development, quality assurance, deployment, and maintenance, while also leading new feature development.
This is a senior, hands-on role for someone comfortable working independently, making technical decisions, and maintaining high standards without close supervision. Over time, this role may grow into leading and building a small development team.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Development & Maintenance
- Own and maintain an existing Laravel application built on a LAMP stack
- Develop new features and enhancements aligned with business goals
- Refactor and improve existing code for performance, readability, and scalability
- Ensure platform stability, security, and reliability in production
- Own the technical and product roadmap for the platform
- Translate business requirements and customer feedback into technical solutions
- Prioritize new features, maintenance work, and technical debt
- Balance speed of delivery with long-term platform sustainability
- Take full responsibility for code quality and technical standards
- Thoroughly test all changes before deployment
- Identify and resolve bugs, edge cases, and performance issues proactively
- Manage deployments and environments hosted on AWS
- Maintain and improve deployment and release processes
- Monitor production systems and respond to issues as they arise
- Ensure proper backups, configuration management, and environment consistency
- Work closely with Sales, Customer Support, and Management
- Act as the primary technical point of contact internally
- Support feature launches, product improvements, and operational needs
- Maintain clear technical documentation and internal specifications
- Continuously improve usability, performance, and overall user experience
- Use platform usage data and feedback to inform technical decisions
- Strong experience with PHP and Laravel
- Solid understanding of the LAMP stack
- Experience working on existing production systems
- Experience with AWS-hosted environments
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (MySQL or similar)
- Proficiency with Git-based workflows
- Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- Reliable, consistent, and committed to a single full-time role
- Interested in long-term ownership rather than short-term contract work
- Experience with SaaS, marketplace, or subscription-based platforms
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
- Experience scaling platforms and preparing systems for growth
- Previous experience mentoring or leading other developers
