We are looking for the position of:
Sous chef
Responsibilities:
- Follows and adheres to all hotel standards, procedures, and codes of conduct
- Collaborates with the head chef, creating daily plans together for the improvement and enhancement of staff performance
- Trains, organizes, and supervises the work of kitchen staff
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with the quality and quantity standards of dishes and products
- Responsible for keeping records of kitchen staff working hours, monitoring the application of all prescribed norms according to hotel standards
- Responsible for maintaining hygiene in kitchen areas, equipment, and staff
- Responsible for the procurement and receipt of ingredients from the purchasing department
- Plans the workforce schedule according to business demands, in collaboration with the head chef
- Organizes food preparation during banquet operations and various events
- Keeps up with achievements and trends in the culinary field
- Reports equipment malfunctions and breakages on the same day
- informs them about stock levels and product status, suggests priority sales of certain ingredients or the freshest products. This is done in the absence of the head chef.
- Determines task priorities and order of execution, along with the head chef
- Regularly manages paperwork: consumption, write-offs, and transfers of ingredients to other kitchens
- Assesses employee performance based on existing evaluation tables, in collaboration with the head chef
- Proposes to the head chef improvements in the cooking process and kitchen organization
- Performs other tasks and duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor
Qualifications:
- Acquired professional education lasting a minimum of 3 years or any other secondary education with at least 4 years of relevant kitchen work experience
- At least 2 years of experience working as a cook in a professional kitchen
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the capacity to follow directions and collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and supervisors
