Head Bartender
Position description
The Head Bartender manages bar operations and staff, ensuring high service standards, proper drink preparation, and compliance with hotel procedures and hygiene rules. Responsibilities include supervising bartenders and assistant bartenders, managing inventory and supplies, coordinating daily bar activities, training and motivating staff, handling orders and tips, maintaining equipment, and supporting a positive work environment. The role ensures smooth opening and closing of the bar, quality service, and serves as a professional role model for the team.
Requirements
- Adherence to hotel standards, procedures, and brand values; professional guest interaction and complaint handling
- Preparation of beverages per menu specifications including cocktails, specialty coffee, and international drinks; creation and seasonal update of the bar menu in collaboration with F&B management
- Leadership, supervision, and mentoring of the bar team; conducting training and skills development sessions for bar staff
- Monitoring beverage costs, portioning norms, and inventory accountability; handling requisitions and assisting with monthly stock counts
- Overseeing bar opening and closing procedures; maintaining cleanliness and hygiene to required standards; operating POS and inventory management systems
- Preferable 3–5 years of experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory role; solid knowledge of cocktails and beverages; English proficiency; computer literacy; flexibility to work shifts
